coz i miss my bed n pillows!! haha!

the camp was syiok! i love the ALC part!!
Cant believe myself that i did those adventure ropes thing!!
The newly built ropes u see next to sports hall there!

haha! a first time for me ok.
I didnt know how many nerves broke, walking on those wooden plank 10m high!!
Shaky legs but i did it!! yeay!!!

And the big tall wall we had to climb without any ladder or ropes.
We could only climb on one another. and everyone in the team must be on top of the wall in the end. wow!! we did that too! fun!!

Ive been talking about my FYP since early this year. Let me tell u a gist of what my FYP is all about today!

Ever notice the word 'Fluoride' on ur toothpastes?? Yes? no?
Check check!!

My FYP is all about fluoride.
It is a very powerful tool! It protects ur teeth from all the bogehness.

U see, when u eat sugary food, bacteria will use up these sugar on ur teeth to metabolize themselves! n they'll have this by-product namely acid.

Acid is a very very bad person. A destroyer. Ur teeth has an outer layer made out of minerals. This acid will "erode" away all these minerals. So if it keeps on eroding and eroding.. there u go! gigi berlobang!! cavities! tooth decay!

It can go as bad like this:

So before u let the bad acid destroy ur teeth! always always prevent the acid!!

how??

yes! fluoride!

thats how u prevent!
before it goes any deeper, the moment it erodes the first layer, fluoride will come in and adds back whatever minerals that had been lost.

So keep brushing ur teeth with fluoridated toothpaste to keep re-mineralizing ur teeth surface.
Oh, even our water source from paips is fluoridated! so do guggle each time after every meal.

Sometimes when its too late, u'll have to find a cure and u'll go to the dentist where he'll fill up the cavities with those grey fillings right?



What does these have to do with material science u ask?
Now Im not doing dentistry here.

Its the fillings that Im dealing about!
yes!

There many different fillings made from different materials!

If the usual ones u see grey.. now there's new ones that has the same tooth colour!



Now this, is applicable for chapped tooth too!
So u see, current materials not only brings out the aesthetics, it too has fluoride effects! Amazing huh.

The incorporated material actually keeps releasing fluoride to protect the already lobang-ed area.

My project is simple but tedious.

All we had to do was:
Measure how much fluoride the material releases.
We had a total of 4 materials that we compared and evaluated.

We made aritificial saliva too! my goodness, i tell u, the smell was worse than real one!

So these materials were dumped into the saliva over days.
After days, we checked the amount of fluoride contained inside the saliva.
And also, checked the pH level of the saliva. If it was going up towards neutral, it showed that the acid was vanishing.

U see, fluoride do wonders. Not only it adds up minerals to ur tooth, it'll also remove acidity!
Oh How much fluoride protects!

Ah.. materials being dumped inside saliva. We did other media too apart from saliva, to mimic our mouth when we eat or drink different things.

Hrmm, If I shouldve known, I'd go to school instead!

No no, we're not going Johor for any sorts of shopping nor holidays.
Its just a trip to visit an uncle over there. Yes, just a visit.

I long for a holiday. Outside of Singapore I mean. u know, 'mkn angin'. Haiz.
I have never been any futher up from Johor (my uncle's place).
Well, according to mom, we had, but that was looooooooong time ago when I was small. N yeaps i dont remember much at all.

There I go again.
Please oh pleaaaaaaase, I just wish for ooooooooooooone holiday.
Now Im saying this again n again, the last family holidaying was 7 years back :(

Just like any other Hari Raya, we have ketupats!! Now, mom n sis are cooking. And I am still not done anyaming the ketupats.



And its frustating coz this time, the cost of one bunch is already up to $2.50. Naik harge!
and and and, the janurs are all so short!! shorts ones are pretty hard to make. That explains most of 'em are small! Smaller than my palm!



Alright I better get back to work!
Now who says only Hari Raya Aidilfitri we smngt do all these? haha!
Tomorrow is also an auspicious day for Muslims alright. Time to clean the house!

So let me start. Last sunday we had kendarating job again!

We were suppose to wear green. But green is a broad colour with many different tones and shades. Thats why u can see 2 blues?? hee!

Oh nvm, baju is not the main point. The hard work is. Standing from morning till late afternoon. phew~
but the fun was all worthwhile. =D

U see, every wedding, the bride will be very VERY pretty and gorgeous. So u can imagine how on-clouds we can be while we work. With all the love songs being played. haha!

Being efficient (roll eyes pls), we divided ourselves to 2 "territories".

This wedding is unique coz they give home-made cookies as door-gifts! Imagine how many batches they baked!

Its being called territories because Azimah will scold anyone who crosses the line.

But at times, some of us had magnetic ears to go the other side to listen what they're talking. And of course, obstructed by Azimah again. hehe!

Now i miss the NUS girls. hrmm shall we meet again? holidays soon! eyaaaaaay!

Im sick again!
N its friday! :(

Today's class was dull. very dull. Only 14 came. And the instrument we're learning today was a hard one. I swear I didnt gain anything from class today. The china fac is really bad at facilitating. She talked sooooo slow and loooooooooong. round n round the bush for 1 point. such that I didnt capture it coz my concentration span ceased. my goodness she started today's class at 9.05!! only God knows whats shes doing with her laptop for the whole 35 mins!

Anyways, UT3 ended today. yay i guess. 1 more round of UT and we're done!! Level of anticipation is high ok.

Class is getting better. eh wait, its already been the best ever since this sem started. yes! I think this current class of mine is the best I could ever have. The people, they're always nice, funny and very loud!! Majority of 'em are efficient when it comes to PBL.

We have Ping Sen, the brain. He's very humble and nice. He'll share with u whatever is necessary. I love working with him. He'll teach u from A-Z, calmly even when u still dont get the point.

We have Theresa, Jae, Weiling who are LOUD! they're a clan basically, with some others in azimah/arafah's class. So whatever happened in THAT class, could be heard in my class in split seconds bcoz of them! haha! I can still remember the case of a boy from that class who dug his nose and touched everywhere. hahaha! they called him gold-digger. And that day, Theresa dashed in and announced to everyone that gold-digger digs again! Apparently he sat next to azimah that day.

Jae who talked nonsense all the time. And to think that she was the one who supposed to present about nano-nipple was quite a bad idea haha!

Nano-nipple? sounds err weird? hahah! everyone went hectic when we were suppose to reseach on that! Its really a term used in semiconductor areas! Its a thin film to be coated on solar cell to maximize energy absorption. And its called nano-nipple coz the film has a lot of small(nanosized) nipples to increase surface area.

And jae was giving relationships like, longer nipples better absorption, short nipples less absorption. I think the fac was controlling himself hard not to laugh out load like the students! haha why the name i dono!

Then..Even the 2 slackers, sharon and ash are funny. They keep planning of how to slack the most yet survive the semester. They skip class like 5 times per module!! my goodness. And they start to kanchiong when they're failing. haha good luck ok.

Oh well, who else? there's a lot to tell about everybody! Bottom line is, the class is great! Atleast there's something to cheer me up and make my day when the problem is hard/boring.

hmm.. to think abt it, im gonna miss sch once im out of it FOR SURE! i just hate this part. ure looking forward but at the same time, u have this feeling of .. awwww.... i miss this i miss that..

I'll talk more about this some other time okies?
