Mauduk: Have you ever told a lie, and felt uneasy afterwards?

I dont know how to put this, but I admit I lied.

The story goes like this. It was the wednesday before the long weekends of CNY. That wednesday I had my first Lab session.

So you see, I have this one module that consists of 5 lab sessions. 2 of which we have to write a full report which due within 2 weeks from the lab day, 2 informal report which due within a week and 1 virtual online lab with a test. We will be graded by all the reports and online test for the virtual lab.

That particular wednesday was an informal report lab for me.

And so it was an easy experiment. It was about measuring the microhardness of alumina and glass. Sounds easy isnt it? It really was. In conclusion, the one with longer crack length and wider dent dimension = less hard material.

Because it was easy, I had completed my report in a day. And because I had completed it too early and the weekends was long and I had so much fun meeting up old friends; I totally forgot about the report.

Being me, I have this habit of not liking to submit assignments early, coz I always have this mindset like, mane tahu nnt ilham answer lagi bagos dtg bsok2.

Dap dup dap dup, and I remembered about this report of mine just last Thursday. A day right after the due date. I kinda freaked out alone in the MRT on the way to school when suddenly teringt psl ni. I have no idea how it had really slipped off my mind.

The only thing I could do was to email the lab supervisor, with the hope she would accept my late submission.

I couldnt focus much during lectures. After all lessons are done, I quickly used the school's computer to email her. Lucky I only had 2 hours of lessons on thursdays. Having that uneasy and worried feeling with frequent drifting thoughts in class is just not good.

My dear friend Susan was there accompanying me. She helped me with the email. I was about to write in that I really forgot and that it had slipped of my mind. But Susan insisted that that was totally an invalid reason to give. She said the supervisor wont accept that typical kind of reason.

I thought she had made a point. I followed her advice. And I followed her suggestion to say that I was out of country during the long weekends. Hrm... So I did write that.

I felt quite uneasy after that. And now, Im more than worried coz there's no reply at all. I was hoping she would reply saying that its ok and she would accept my report. Im still waiting though.

I keep thinking about it.

I remembered when I was in Poly, I encountered few times of submitting my RJs after 11.59. Ofcourse I couldnt submit 'em online nimore and had to email the faci together with a reason.

I had always give a non-false reason. I remembered writing something like I was too tired after cca that I dozed off soon after I reached home. The faci still accepted it.

I remembered writing something like my laptop went faulty (when it really did). I remembered writing something like I wasnt feeling well. Both were still accepted.

I remembered there was one time Azimah and I played Xbox during the 1 hr break and thought that there wont be any 2nd meeting, but we were wrong coz there was still second meeting. We emailed the faci and she forgave us. And we still got an 'A' for that day.

I used to tell myself, sometimes telling the truth and be sincere is just better. If it wasnt accepted, atleast u tried. Tried being honest of what really happened. Its like, who WOULD WANT to purposely submit a report late isnt it. who WOULD WANT to purposely skip 2nd meeting for Xbox rite?

Oh no no no, its not that Im blaming Susan now. She tried to save me for having my report being accepted.

Thing is.. Im thinkin.. Is it ok to "cover" up to save ourself?
Ofcoz we are thought not to lie.. but one may say, alah stakat ni report je.
Its only 1 AU anyway. I really dont know.

So how do I save my grade if let say.. the report is not accepted (nauzubillah)?
I know I know.. dont repeat the same mistake and buat the following ones betul2 kn?

Thing is; Im worried AGAIN coz...

I had my virtual online lab last wednesday. We need to read ALOT! the lab manuals, the online learning, the machine instructions and all! I spent hours n hours reading. And when its time for the online MCQ test, I found it hard and difficult. I only know a few.

Its written there that score will be published after the test. But when I had ended the test, there wasnt any score shown. Instead...

Instead...

INSTEAD!!!!!

its written there...

"can do better"

OMG!! what is the meaning eh!!
terok sngt ke score terlalu rendah utk dipublish kan ke tk tahu la ehh Allahu a'lam je la dgn ayat tertulis semcm gitu.

Im left with 3 more labs to kick 'em hard. I better be good this time round. InsyaAllah.

School is tough. I must be tougher.

..so as to bear the load before it propagates from the notch till fracture failure.
haha.

I love my VIPs =D

This is my father. He is a civil engineer, working with SCE consultant, situated somewhere in Redhill. Thats prolly the main reason why I was driven to school ALMOST every day when I was in first year RP.

And thats my father, always pamper us by sending us anywhere. He used to send us to schools back then. N now, He sends my sis to WORK everyday. yes WORK. He sent me to work EVERYDAY when I was working with PA that time too.

He send me to school when I was limping with injury. Yes, that very far NTU, though he complained he'd be late for work. He picked me up whenever I call him saying Im sick. He picked me up when I called him saying Im lost. He send and pick my brother up for madrasah at KEMBANGAN to force him learn agama coz he's super lazy to go school on sundays.

And thats how caring my father can be. There's always 1800-daddy-helpline.

This is my mother, Mdm Mariani. She is a full time housewife. Like every other moms, she has a HUGE maternal instincts. She's a mind reader. She knows exactly what her children feel and what they want.

She never fails to keep our tummy full. If u know me well enough, u would have noticed that I will have packet of "roti ber-inti" every monrning. The inti will be leftover lauk for dinner the day before. Yes, she makes breakfast for everyone everyday. Roti and milo. She even makes it for my sis n brother in law coz they will come every morning to send baby mika here.

She stayed up late at night to parut the buah pale, knowing that i'd be home the next morning with a swollen knee. She cooked me kacang pool just as soon after I told her "mak, da lame eh tk mkn kacang pool". She always have a sewing kit on stand-by for alteration so that all oufits look perfect on us, esp raya outfits! She used to come to my room to feed me medicine and hot water when Im sick.

Thats how loving my mom can be. And for that, its always nice to slip in next to her for a hug when she's resting. =D

This is my eldest sister, Maisarah. She works in a bank. A German bank namely Duetch Bank. I hope I spelled it correctly. She is married to a responsible man named Shafri. She has 1 smart and sweet daughter, Misha Humairah, 1 son, Mikail Rusydi and another son this coming May =D
I think she still looks good in this picture though she's 5 months pregnant.

She is a great help to us all. She never fails to fix our computers and laptops with her IT skills. And its always vuaaaaallllah~ all fixed. I remember back then, when my dad was away overseas, she was the one who woke up early in the morning to drive us to school so we could be on time. Yeah I know, its my habit since small to be always late.

She is a strong woman, and back then was a strong girl. She used to be the next man after my father. Doing all the strength-needed-tasks like shifting the furniture, painting and many more. And now, she's not all dizzy nor constant vomitting like usual pregnant women are. She's ok as per normal.

Though she has her own family now, she is still a great help to us. Always here and attached to us. Thats how thoughtful she can be. =D

Her adorable babies. You should see how both of them play catching. Super cute! Both of them wanted to be catched and dont want to be the one catching. So they will always run the opposite direction of each other.

This is my second sister, Mardhiah. She is currently a training teacher at Kong Hwa School. She loves kids and loves to teach. N because she is working, she loves to shop! And thats the best part of all. Coz we'll be having new clothes every now and then.

And thats about us, we share almost everything. Unlike me, she is so so small. She doesnt eat much. Maybe coz her apetite goes down to me. I cant remember when was it that I overshot her in terms of height and weight. Like tau2 je da mcm nie. And unlike me, she's soft and quiet. Its always me who does the mememkak pt ruma.

She was my childhood friend. Coz I was in the same sch with her since kindergarten. Then Maarif and then RP. She would send me to my class for the first day of school. Yes, even at the age of 17. We always played together when we were small. Dolls, zero point, hopscotch, 5 stones, acting, playgrounds, picking flowers and more! We would always tell stories at night before sleep. hehe those were the cute ol times.

And throughout, she has always been patient with me. Always giving in to me. When there's 2 dresses back then, she would always let me take the nicer one. When we were playing acting, she would always let me be the princess. We always have the same phone, and she would let me take the nicer colour. She will make me a cup of hot drink when I want it. Basically she always do what I say. Thing is, she never complains. To think about it again, yep, I never heard her whine once.

Thats how patient my sis is to me. =D

This is my brother, Muslihuddin. He is the star of the family. Coz he's the only son. Being the only son and the youngest, u can imagine how pampered he can be.

And lately, he breaks the family record of having the best o level grades. 6 points for JC? I guess he breaks the family record of all polys too. Even both my mom and dad were from poly.

We used to play hot wheels together. And he always had to listen to me. I remembered slapping him once coz he wanted the roads to be in diff direction of what I wanted. hahaha!

He is unique since young. He's the first person I met to have a hobby of travelling in public busses. He will have a day out just to explore the routes of different busses. He likes routes and maps. His favourite book last time was the street directory. He loved it so much that my mom had to hide that book away when its time for exams. He would spread out white papers on the floor to draw the maps back. He has his own excel files of routes and busses.

He would ask me to guess which bus has the most stops or which bus goes here or here and all sort of those questions. Good thing is, there's one time i was lost, i just called him to ask which bus i should take for the shortest distance.

I wont deny that sometimes my mom slightly favours him more, though she denied that. She would iron his shirts almost everyday and when she's tired, would ask me to do it for her. Me, being me, would blaaaaaaaaaab about why he cant do it himself coz he's big enough! Mom would go.. 'if u dont wanna do it means u simply dont wanna help me'. Ok i surrender. Sigh.

Sometimes I would sigh and whine to myself. why i have to do for him this, why i have to do for him that. Why i have to cedokkn dia makan. why i have to siapkn baju dia, etc.
I would start to feel sorry to have felt all those when he does something for me in return. He would make me milo in the morning. He would help me buy those ingredients I needed for baking/cooking. Small little things but enough to make me feel sorry.

I love my brother. Without him, there's no one to argue with. =D

This is Bilal. My significant other. He is currently botak doing his BPT. My Mr. Policeman. =D

Now that he's in camp, I miss him meeting me up after school, sending me off to class, jog with me, studying with me, etc! yes studying! He studied my mechanics n maths just so he can teach and study with me. N yes jogging, coz he would frequently come over just for an hour jogging session with me around my area when I keep complaining Im fat. =D

He's a smart guy that I got tired competing grades with him back then! I never tasted full gpa of 4 even for a sem like he did more than once.

He would wait for me at bustops or MRTs whenever i'd be home late. He'd buy me food whenever Im hungry. N I always am. He would wake me up if Ive important things in the morning. He would wake me up from nap to remind me its almost asar and I havent pray. He would say sorry sometimes although its not his fault just so that I would feel better. He would tell me what to wear when I ask him to pick. He always tell me whats should n wats shouldnt. Whats nice and whats not. I like him for that. And it has been constant all the way, not only at our initial stage.

Now thats it 2009, its almost 3 yrs since we met. He has shown me much love n care ever since. Some jealous souls used to say he would leave me one day and we wont make it. I hope I can prove 'em wrong one day when he's part of the family. Im thankful that I met a good practising muslim as my life partner. InsyaAllah.

I cant wait for his confinement days to be over. How terrible can it be to have pop 5 months later. Sigh. Im gonna have lonely weekdays. Ive gotta be strong.

Thats all for now. I love my VIPs. They complete me.

Dear SAS Graduates,

Some of you may be aware that RP is having its Open House on the 7th and 10th of January 2009. Please feel free to drop by if you are available. May be a good chance to catch up with the facilitators and friends that you have not seen since graduation!

The publicity poster for RP’s Open House 2009 is attached for your reference.

Regards,
Esther Chng
Academic Manager (Alumni Affairs)
School of Applied Science
Republic Polytechnic

We came, we met, we gathered!
DMTS reunion at RP Open House 2009!

Everyone looked so cheerful and bright to see one another. Even our facis!
For once I cant believe Mdm Vicky was being nice and chatty to us. She used to scream and squirm at our group during FYP period.

We gossiped about foreign student. She told me that foreign students can just smell the paper and know that answer when it comes to maths. hehee i just gotta agree with her.

Next to me there is Dr. Kam. She asked hows life in NTU and was advising me to go all the way up to Masters. I maintain a good composure and kept on smiling. But inside of me, hehehehhe. I was like "tanak tanak tanak tanak!! Org nk kawen la blueeeek!!" I dont want to be like her ehhh. Ok Im evil!

We walked and roamed around pretending that we were o level students. Some believed us though we dont look that young.

We played this one game where initially we wanted to act as o level students until they asked for our student card. Wallace just had to give his army card. haha.

We took lots of pictures and we saw a poster with Rai in it! She looked so demure.

This is my first semester FYP poster. Michelle said they put this up coz it was dumped unclaimed back in the Lab. How bad.

Azimah and Arafah with their FYP machine. Some solar thingy I cant remember what. Pretty sure they miss their machine!

Free lunch behind the DMTS booth.

Catch-up session is always a must. Be it anywhere!

PPT slide showing graduate faces. Im thankful that they didnt use my matriculation photo like they did for Faathir and Pei'en.

I bumped into this girl while walking around! She was there to return the school's baju silat. haha! cant believe she hold them up for such a LONG time.

I felt bad that I had to turn down her offer of lunching together. Next time alright? =D

Oh have i tell u that we went to egypt to see the pyramids over the weekend? We really did!

My supervisor suprised me by showing me this.

My FYP is published here!! I feel so good about that. She told me to keep this copy coz it'll be good to include this in my CV later on. I hope that nxt 2 yrs, when I have to do another round FYP, I'll get something related to what I did in RP.

I had such a great time meeting up my DMTS friends. One thing for sure, I never regret getting into RP's Dip in Material Science. Though that was my LAST choice in JAE after getting my o level results.

I pondered and came to a conclusion. Sometimes what we like and what we really2 want, may not be the best for us. And for that, Allah has a better plan for us. It might be hard to accept at the beginning but we must always redha and accept what's given by Him.

I remembered being so sad and cried when I got the very LAST choice. Materials, at that point of time, didnt seem appealing to me. I remembered again that Azimah told me material science is probably about jual kain in the end. That made me more sad than ever.

Over time, I came to realize that what I had wanted so much became less interesting and materials are getting more "into" me.

I thank Allah for making me see all these.

It feels so yesterday talking about O level. Fact is, tomorrow my brother's result will be out!! Im feeling his nervousness. :S

The doc referred me to the Sports Medicine Centre over at CGH. Probably coz its the nearest.

Yes, its really painful walking now. Esp in sch will all those stairs! And its more painful and difficult to go toilet. Worst, when I had to catch the bus!

I was diagnosed this morning. Physically examined, ultrasound and X-ray. After which, the doc concluded that I have MCL tear with ACL strain!

She showed me a fake knee with all the joints. So I learnt that MCL and ACL connect the thigh bone to the shin bone. Sometimes i wish i can just open my knee and tie the tear. Or ganti spare part ke gitu. heh.

I was arranged for MRI next 2 week. How cool is that. The one that looks like going into oven to be grilled. But the cost is terribly expensive. I have yet to get it approved by my dad. (I wish he will though). I was arranged for physios too! I hope it WILL make my knee better. Anyone free to accompany me? It sux going alone this morning. :'(

So Maimanah, no physical activites till end of feb!!

Have a wonderful year everyone

2008 will come to an end real soon. I heard many "wow so fast!"s. hrmm fast?
Personally for me, I think 2008 was not really so fast cozz so many things happened!

Last year, or last last year, it was like.. okaaaay, the whole year was just school, school school and school. RP, home RP, home, RP home and so on.

However 2008, I must say.. I had many new experiences. It was no longer just RP and Home.

Well, for my last entry here, im gonna highlight the salient events occured in my life in 2008.

Earlier this year, I was stil in my final semester in Republic Poly. Juggling UTs, FYP and daily grades.

With the thought that we're graduating, everyone was super excited to end their poly lives. I remembered rushing my FYP. Report and poster for presentation. Alhamdulillah it went very well and I got a B+ for that. Wheehooo~ =D

Finally it was graduation. We had our School of Applied Science High Tea before the real gradutaion convocation.

I remembered going to the High Tea with a crutch too. That was my first time going out with that. Sumpah I never like using it outside. It made me looked like mintak belas ihsan gitu.

It was in 2008 too that I injured my knee. It happened during training when we were practising a kejatuhan, namely Nike. I regretted resisting too much till my ligament could not stand any further that it snapped. Really, I heard it snapped! I should have just go with the flow and make myself fall.

Sigh. No use crying over spill milk. But the incident had really changed my life. Though it heals up slowly, I still couldnt run properly. The doc said theres no cure for ligament injury. The only way is to have surgery where it'll be replaced. And physios only aid to make the muscles stronger so we are not so prone to injuries again.

So there u go~ I was and still am sad about it. But yeah, I know everything happens for a reason. And the saddest part of all, I cant exercise as vigourous as before. Each time I do, I would have to do it cautiously, which in turn, wont make me perspire as much as before. N yes, my weight kept gaining after the incident. ITS TRUE.

Now tell me which girl wouldnt feel sad about that.

Nvm about that, lets continue with my 2008 events!

yes graduation!! It was really a happy + sad moment. Funny isnt it. Happy that I made it through 3 yrs, but sad coz Im leaving the dear school and friends.

I had a very loooong holiday afterwards.
And for the first, I got my feet into KL. It was a school trip. We visited University of Malaya. We were supposed to go for a competition. Due to errors over there, the competition was delayed.

And our trip changed to some friendly matches with the Malaysians.

I was glad to be given this opportunity coz I wanted a vacation so much. Due to my bad knee condition, I couldnt participate. Not tanding and not even performing regu.
And so, my mission to KL was plainly:

SHOPPING!!! wohoooooooooo!!~~

eh.. okla oklah..
and to support and cheer for my team!! better? =D

After much resting from the long holiday, I started to look for a temporary job. I got one at People's Association at Kallang. How near can that be. I love it! I worked for CPD. A branch of PA. I was just an Admin Assistant. I helped the Social Assistance Team. This is the very first time I work, apart from just givings tutions last time.

It was quite boring coz I didnt really have much to do! However, I survived the boredom!

N becoz I got a job, I enrolled myself for driving lesson! Mom said that if I wanna learn how to drive, I must pay for myself! So yeap, perhaps now's the time?
Oh well, I havent complete the course yet. Still waiting for the test date. =D

And then in June, we had the annual Silat Competition among Tertiary Schools. It was the first time my school had to chair the event. I was in the organizing team. It was really wow!

U cant imagine how tiring it was. Meetings after meetings. VERY frequent. Meetings stretched from late 2007 all the way to the event itself! I was very busy indeed!

I remembered doing IVP stuffs in the office when I had nothing to do. LOL~
I remembered going to back to school in Woodlands from Kallang after work at 6.
Just to continue preparing and to train! I would reach home very2 late and became a grumpy insufficient-sleep girl in the office the next morning.

But then again, everything seemed so worthwhile. I didnt regret a single thing about this. Hardwork really pays off. I enjoyed everything I did. It was really a great experience working with bodies, companies and many more!! Liasing with the "upper" people in school, with T-shirt company, Medal company, silat federation, all the diff schools and more!

Somehow, I think it made me a lil bit wiser. U know, u'll learn alot when working with diff people. =D

It was before the competition that I received a letter from both NUS and NTU. Alhamdulillah I was accepted by both. But I picked NTU. =D

And again, I remembered doing all the registration stuffs at work coz I really had nothing to do in the Office. I stopped working a month before school starts to prepare myself.

I joined the Freshman Orientation Camp organized by NTU Muslim Society. I met new friends! I thank God I made friends before school starts. Coz I faced quite some problems with matriculation and school stuffs earlier. Budak baru masok sekolah katekan. And it was from these people I met that I seeked help from. I thank u all so much for the guidance.

School starts and I chose to continue my Silat activities in NTU. I met familiar faces. Seen every year during the annual competition. They are such nice people. Great to be with. Im happy that I made friends with them.

And now, the first semester in NTU is over. Results are also out. Alhamdulillah I passed everything!

Now Im determined to work harder for Semester 2. School starts this monday. Im halfly unprepared.

Initially I had planned things to do for the new semester within these last 5 days. I want to re-arrange my room so it'll be more study convinient area. I want to prepare empty files for upcoming new notes. I want to iron lots and lots of clothes so I wont be late for classes in the morning. I want to clean up my laptop, organize new folders, segragating old and new.

But, hrmm

looks like I cant do those for now (except for the last one heh). I really hope I can walk properly by friday so I can start doing what I want to.

I also want to accompany Bilal to buy stuffs he needed for camp next week but I cant.
How sad can that be. If I cant walk, means I cant go out, means I cant meet him.

Oh dear, I really want to heal before he is off for the police camp!

So now u see, So many new happenings in my 2008!! A whole new experiences!! and for that, I felt that 2008 was long!! =

Till then,
Welcome 2009!
