The house is now kitchenless.

Im pretty excited to see the NEW kitchen. The old one was REALLY old. Coz we didnt do any renovations when we moved in 11 yrs back. So it has been up since the previous owner, for which I dont know how long they were here before we came in.
The old design was not practical at all. Wooden cabinet doors, ceramic tiles with wooden frame as the countertop. Even wooden frame for the sink! Nu-uh, not practical for heavy duty cooking. I guess the previous owner was the type who dine-out everyday and cook only once in a while.
With my mom who cooks almost every day, over time, I could see all the woods go through failure! Heh. ive becoming more aware of all the kitchen-associated materials. Afterall, I guess I should make myself more materials-savy? hah!
Throughout this renovation, Ive learned about granite, which is good if u cook alot. There's acrylic -a "bedek" type of granite, if u want it cheaper. And then there's ABS - its a polymer, and can be used to line the woods if u really want wooden finish for ur kitchen. Afterall, wooden design IS nice. Coz it'll give the kitchen more country-like feature.
Oh! N i admire how the contractors work! Their technical skills are just superb. I observed how they cut and fix in the tiles, and that each tiles can fit in exactly side by side. No gaps! They can do measurements by just fingers too. Simply amazing!
With that, I hope the contractors will do a fine job. And I hope it'll be done before school starts! Coz the house is in a SERIOUS mess! Every single item that was in the kitchen is now scattered from the hall to the dining area. plates, cups, kettle, perioks.. rempah2, obat2, cutleries. Even the fridge is outside! N many more lah! Crampy house indeed.
-Mai anicipating a new kitchen. =D
